A concave wall 15 inches deep can’t have hand made mirror on it. Mirrors are flat. What options does a designer have when a client suggests hand silvered glass for the wall treatment in such an unusual wet bar space?

Beverly Bohan from Haute Design in Charleston, SC knew who to call when architect Christopher Rose drew a design for an extreme concave wall following the arc of the sink in the bar. She called us and said she had an idea for a very unique installation of our hand silvered mirror. After taking a look on-site we decided to sheathe the entire wall, flat and concave, in our C.A.G. Signature FRENCH ANTIQUE HAND SILVERED GLASS. All we needed to do was template the concavity, build a sheet metal slump mold, slump 8 panels of plate glass for 11 hours each, silver the 16 panels, figure out how to transport the fragile slumped sheets and then dangle from a series of ladders to literally “stack” the glass and adhere it to the wall. The result speaks for itself. Charleston Architectural Glass, Inc. proudly presents the most striking hand silvered slumped glass wall we have ever made.

Charleston Architectural Glass proudly presents the CULTURED SILVER SERIES line of customizable framed hand silvered mirrors.

This line was conceived as a way to bring together all of the custom mirrors we were designing and building to an international audience. We were making these mirrors one at a time for the design trade and always encountered the same needs.

"We can only find production frames and mirrors in stock sizes. We need sizes and finishes we cannot find on the web through our existing suppliers but our budget doesn't support typical custom pricing and timing."

The CULTURED SILVER SERIES line addresses this by offering all of the finishes, options and styles you would expect of any of our custom mirror commissions while extracting the costs and time for designing, meeting, redesigning, sending samples, approval, then waiting for your project to come up in the queue and finally being fabricated. All of the elements of any mirror are predesigned and in stock. Simply specify finish(es) and options desired and dimensions and you will have a quotation in your hands quickly. All styles, options and finishes are on our website for you and your clients to review.

The styles of these mirrors cover a wide array of design applications. An AVA mirror with a CAG Signature hand silvered antique silver finish will be indiscernible from a turn of the century piece. If the design calls for a hand silvered RED glass frame with antique pinhole finish at 10 x 8 feet, look no further. If you can draw or describe it, CAG can do it.
